3rd Annual Must Dash for a Cure

October 28, 2016 By Karen Friend Smith Leave a Comment

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

The 3rd Annual Must Dash for a Cure, a casual 5k to raise money — and awareness — for Type 1 diabetes, starts at 9AM on Sunday, November 20 on San Elijo Hills Park lower softball field.

Please come out and join the fun! All ages are welcome.

Over the last two years, with your participation and community support, this event has raised nearly $25,000 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and those monies have been doubled by grants.

This event was started by the Gidner family. Janet & Damon Gidner are both teachers here in San Marcos. They have lived in San Elijo Hills for over 12 years and are very active in our community. Both of their children, Addison and Nolan, have Type 1 diabetes, so this is a disease that their family lives with every day.

The Gidners created this event to raise awareness and it has proved to be an incredibly successful event – both because of the funds it raises and the awareness it brings to the disease and a better understanding for those who suffer from it.

Together with the help of volunteers, sponsors and donors, this event gains more momentum each year. So, don’t miss out!

It’s even easier to register this year, with registration, lunch and raffle tickets all available online. You can also make donations directly on their website.

Visit www.MustDashForACure.org to register, then “Like” the Must Dash for a Cure Facebook page to stay up to date on event information, raffle and silent auction items!

Please email info@mustdashforacure.org if you’d like to be an event sponsor or donate an item to our silent auction and/or raffle. All proceeds benefit JDRF.

Please register today and dash, walk and skip with your family and friends to benefit Type 1 Diabetes. Together we can help find a cure!
