A Frame of Art has been providing picture framing since 1989 and if you’ve followed SHARE for a while, you’ve seen their ad featuring 20% off your first picture framing order ever since our very first issue. This little shop is located in a business park right behind Acapulco Restaurant on Via Vera Cruz and you will be amazed at all that goes on inside this place!
It’s also the perfect place to create a shadowbox, which makes an amazing gift. A Frame of Art has done it all – whether sports memorabilia, a collection of photos, even a special dress. There are so many creative ways to take those family heirlooms you have sitting around and place them in a display that you can see and share regularly. And, A Frame of Art knows how to do that in a way that doesn’t involve glue or tape that takes away from the value of your keepsakes.
Frames are just the start, though. A Frame of Art also offers art restoration services. If you have a painting or photograph that has aged causing the colors to fade or the paint to crack, this is where the talents of A Frame of Art can’t be beat. You can see some of their sample work on display in the store.
If you have artwork that has water or fire damage, A Frame of Art can reverse the damage and potentially restore the painting to its pre-damaged state. They also offer surface cleaning, tear repair, paint loss repair, varnish removal, and frame restoration.
Family Owned & Operated
Richard and Helen Tjaden are a couple of the nicest people you will meet. They are also extremely skilled and talented. Richard studied art restoration with a master in the early 70s. Helen has an amazing eye for using frames to enhance an art piece. And, their son has also become part of the family business.
We encourage you to stop in and meet them. There’s no reason to trust your paintings and photographs to less quality solutions, when you can have them framed and/or restored properly right here in San Marcos. When you need a project done or some advice about restoration or a gift idea for someone you care about, visit A Frame of Art.
