Grand Opening Event: July 7, 2014 10 AM to 2 PM

New SLP Clinic Grand OpeningWith California State University San Marcos right here in San Marcos, there are so many unique resources and opportunities available. Here’s one to get out and explore this month.

On Monday, July 7, CSUSM is hosting a Grand Opening Event for their Speech-Language Clinic from 10 AM to 2 PM. Take advantage of this opportunity for a free hearing screening, to tour the clinic, and get information on communicative disorders.

Most importantly, use this event as an opportunity to learn about the valuable services offered there at the clinic. Oftentimes when someone has a stroke, insurance only covers rehabilitation for a fixed period of time. For someone who is not fully rehabilitated, the Speech-Language Clinic provides continuing treatment. In the summer, the treatments are free of charge and in the fall they are offered at low cost.

CSUSM Speech-Language Clinic services are provided by graduate students under direct supervision of state-licensed and nationally-certified speech-language pathologists. It’s a win-win for students and patients alike. Students gain the applied learning during their final semester, which is largely responsible for the 100% employment rate of graduates of the program. In addition, the community benefits by having access to free and low cost services.

Services at CSUSM Speech-Language Clinic are available for all ages and a variety of needs and the Grand Opening Event is a perfect opportunity to explore and learn more about this valuable community asset.

Hope to see you there!
