Maybe you try to eat well and exercise. You’re pretty smart and knowledgeable about fitness. You know what you need to do. But you still don’t look—or feel—the way you want to. Or maybe you somehow got off track as the result of an injury or health issue or work commitment and you feel overwhelmed at the idea of ‘starting over’.
Whatever keeps you from making progress or getting started, you’d be surprised what a little professional help can do. And, if you recently made a commitment to yourself to lose weight or ‘get in shape’ in the New Year, this is a neighborhood expert you will want to meet.
Tyler Smith is the owner and operator of MBODIE – a private fitness & nutrition coaching service that works with you one-on-one to design a customized program along with the accountability you need to achieve your fitness goals. You’ve seen Tyler’s face here in SHARE for many months and we thought January was the perfect time to help you get to know her a little better.
Tyler grew up in San Elijo Hills. She has been a certified personal trainer now for five years. She loves working with people one-on-one to meet their fitness goals. Her experience includes helping people work around any limitations they might have from injuries or health concerns. Most of her clients meet with her 2-3 times/week, while others utilize Tyler’s expertise to create their monthly workout plan so they know what to do when they get to the gym on their own. This helps ensure workouts are always progressing and results-driven. Tyler is the master of a good workout, always adding some creativity to keep things fresh and fun.
To ensure progress and lasting results, Tyler utilizes a habit-based coaching software that delivers nutrition and lifestyle coaching (daily habits, lessons, and assignments) to support her clients in between sessions. She is also an amazing listener, which makes her an effective accountability partner for her clients.
Beyond these skills, what sets Tyler apart from most personal trainers is her training and experience with nutrition and eating psychology. Tyler’s training as a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner comes from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York where she studied with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. She also had the privilege of studying closely with Marc David and Emily Rosen through an internationally acclaimed 8-month certification program at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating where she was trained to work with today’s major eating challenges – including weight, body image, overeating, binge-eating, chronic dieting and nutrition-linked health concerns.
This comprehensive training has positioned Tyler to be a trusted partner for her clients in providing a very holistic and customized approach to health and fitness that embraces mind, body and spirit.
Whatever piece of your fitness puzzle just isn’t working – whether the exercise itself, your nutrition or your mindset – Tyler would love to help you craft a strategy that is customized to you and designed to reach your goals in the new year.
