Adrienne Wagemester is the owner of Perfect Balance Fitness – offering mobile private and small group sessions in Personal Training, Vinyasa Yoga, Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) Instruction, SUP Yoga and SUP Fitness.
Originally from the East Coast (Southern New Jersey), Adrienne moved to San Elijo Hills in 2003. She and her husband, Alan, met in Pacific Beach in the late 90s. Today, they have two children ages 12 and 9 and are a very active family here in the community.
Adrienne was always involved in sports starting in middle school, and throughout high school and college. Beyond that, she has always been physically active as a runner and in designing her own exercise programs as well as surfing, SUP and yoga. She holds two degrees, one in Business Management/Travel & Tourism from Brandywine College of Widener University and one in Exercise Science from Temple University. After working as a corporate meeting planner for several years, she decided that living out of a suitcase wasn’t the path for her so she went back to school to study exercise science with a concentration in cardiac rehabilitation and special populations. The last twenty-five years of working in corporate travel, healthcare, fitness, corporate wellness, and corporate risk management has led her to where she is today and she is grateful for all of those experiences gained along the way.
A couple of years ago, Adrienne realized that she wanted to get back to working directly with people who are looking for a healthier, more active and fit lifestyle so she took all of the necessary steps to renew her certifications, and in loving yoga and SUP, got certified to teach those as well. Last year, she launched Perfect Balance Fitness (her daughter came up with the name) so she can put her expertise to work helping people who are struggling to find balance and stay on track in being physically active. In the future, she’d like to blend in her travel experience and offer destination yoga and SUP retreats.
“People are so busy, they don’t put themselves on the calendar and yet it is so important that we make fitness a part of our lives – not only for the sake of fitness, but for stress management and for fun,” Adrienne shares.
The vision behind Perfect Balance Fitness is to help develop balance for those with busy lifestyles by integrating and promoting the physical and mind-body components of a well-rounded fitness program to reduce stress and to help improve overall health and quality of life.
Adrienne loves working with people at all stages. Her ideal client loves to be outside and struggles to find time to incorporate a healthy lifestyle due to work and family obligations. Adrienne gets her clients outside and moving in a way that is best suited for them – offering personal training, beach yoga and fitness, private yoga, SUP and SUP yoga for all levels in both private and group settings.
