Lisa Druxman is a resident of San Marcos and Founder of FIT4MOM – a company that provides exercise, companionship and support to tens of thousands of moms around the country. It all started with Stroller Strides back in 2001 and has since grown into a variety of programs designed to support their mission to “Help moms make strides in fitness, motherhood and life.”
As a leader in the fitness industry for 25 years, Lisa has seen a recurring theme that breaks her heart and has inspired her latest “Passion Project”.
Too often I see women focus all of their fitness efforts on a number on the scale, only to see them reach their goal and still not be happy with their body. It’s never enough. At the end of our life, I believe we will regret the time we missed out on life due to our perception of our body. We will wish we had recognized our beauty in the moment, rather than waiting until we were ‘perfect’.
Recently, Lisa got together with local video producer Stephanie Cowan and local photographer Kinda Arzon to share her desire to create a video that encourages women to celebrate their bodies and their beauty. To embrace their curves, stretch marks and scars. To remember that the beauty images the media promotes are not real and that true beauty is found in the present moment and in embracing our full selves.
Stephanie and Kinda were so inspired about the project that they volunteered their time to make it happen. They also brought in local hair and makeup artist Vada Layan and Laura Bravo as photo director. This team of dynamic women brought their talents together to create a video that is now spreading the message of true beauty to women and girls everywhere.

I feel it’s so important that we as mothers begin to see ourselves through the eyes of our children. They see us as beautiful, until we tell them otherwise. As moms, we have to remember how we influence our children and their definition of beauty. They are not going to get the message of true beauty anywhere else. It’s up to us. – Lisa shared.
When women embrace their beauty and come together to showcase their talents, #beYOUtiful things happen!
