San Elijo Hills Women’s Club – March 2017

February 22, 2017 By Karen Friend Smith

Booties and Blankies and Onesies, Oh My!

Oohs and ahs were heard throughout the evening as San Elijo Hills Women’s Club (SEHWC) members and guests viewed the adorable baby gifts brought to the club’s annual Straight from the Heart (SFTH) baby shower on February 7.

Each year, baby clothing, toys, and supplies are lovingly donated by SEHWC members and guests and are, in turn, provided by SFTH staff to parents of foster babies as needed. At the event, Patty Bolles, SFTH founder, thanked the San Elijo Hills Women’s Club for their significant financial support over the years. She also provided an overview of the 19-year history of SFTH, discussing the training and support provided to potential and current foster parents. The highlight of the evening were heartwarming and uplifting presentations by current foster parents who shared the challenges, but most importantly the overwhelming joys of bringing foster children into their homes and families.
