San Marcos AYSO Region 127 is hosting a shoe drive in the community from February 14 to March 10, 2015. They will be collecting gently used shoes in partnership with Shoes with Heart, a local non profit.
The organization is raising money to be able to do more for the youth in the community and to provide better playing experiences for all their players. AYSO is 100% volunteer driven and operates on money raised through registration fees, snack bar sales, and donations.
“As one of the longest standing youth sports organizations in the city, we really want to spend this year giving back to the city who has provided us with some of the best fields and support we could ask for. This event is just the first of many we plan to coordinate, in an effort to show our love for the city of San Marcos, and youth sports in general.” Jaime Quinto, PR Director.
This spring San Marcos AYSO will use some of these funds to lower cost for its Spring Skills program, including a special program for 3 year olds call Playtime Adventure, and an age specific soccer skill programs for kids 4 to 14 as well as a soccer program for our VIP kids, with special needs.
San Marcos AYSO is one of many regions of the American Youth Soccer Organization, a national soccer program, which provides a balanced soccer experience for every level of player. They have a VIP division for players with disabilities, a core division, focused on balanced teams and fair play during the fall season, an extra division, where teams play other regions during regular season, and participate tournaments, and a club division where players play in some of the top league play in the state competitively. They are the oldest soccer organization in San Marcos.
