SHARE San Marcos was recently presented an award for San Marcos Small Business of the Year by the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and the City of San Marcos.
The award was presented at the 2015 San Marcos State of the City Address and Chamber Awards Installation Luncheon. It was an honor to be recognized for our contributions to the community.
“We as a community needed a way to SHARE and showcase all of the great people and projects here in San Marcos. To bring that platform to life and to witness the way the community has embraced the publication is incredible. This award goes not only to us, but to the entire community for their willingness to SHARE,” explained publisher, Karen Friend Smith.
We SHARED the spotlight that day with several other businesses who also received San Marcos Chamber Awards: Charity Wings, ALoha Printing, Cocina del Charro, 92078, California Bank & Trust, The Meridian, Grocery Outlet, Jersey Mike’s Markstein Beverage, EDCO, North COunty Health Services and Residence Inn.
The Chamber also recognized Dan Reichel as Board Member of the Year and Kathleen Quinn as Ambassador of the Year.
It was a fun day of celebration as nearly 300 people gathered to look back at 2014 in San Marcos, while also looking to the future.
Mayor Jim Desmond acknowledged the city for the way we all responded and came together during the Cocos Fire. He also highlighted some of the new projects ahead for San Marcos including new housing and retail developments as well as collaborations among the mayors of other cities along the 78 corridor to enhance North County.
