Editor’s Note: On May 16, at the invitation of several of my fellow San Marcos Chamber members, I attended the Grand Opening of North County Health Services Women’s Health right here in San Marcos on 150 Valpreda Road. I’ve heard of NCHS because they are one of San Marcos’ largest employers. But, I’ve never had a cause to step into their doors and experience what an amazing community resource it is. If you’re like me, I thought you’d enjoy hearing a little more about this vibrant organization that sits right in our backyard.
North County Health Services serves more than 60,000 patients annually at 10 community health centers in Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, San Marcos and Ramona. Private insurances, Medi-Cal and Medicare are all accepted, while any uninsured patient may be eligible for low or no-cost programs based on income.
In San Marcos, NCHS provides medical, dental and women’s health services. But, on this particular day, we celebrated the grand opening of their beautiful new Women’s Health facilities, and that with the expansion of facilities, they can now serve more women in the community. The ambiance of the new facilities more accurately reflects the stellar quality of care offered by NCHS Women’s Health and they invite you to stop in and see for yourself.
NCHS Women’s Health offers a comprehensive pregnancy program where women enjoy the benefit of having all of the providers and services for their pregnancy, together in one place – everything from prenatal to delivery. In addition, they provide regular GYN services. And, for those who are uninsured or underinsured, NCHS has staff on-site to help women get the care they need through a variety of state funded programs and resources.
You immediately sense the professionalism and pride of the all female staff at NCHS Women’s Health. With the positive attitude, friendliness and warmth offered from the front desk to the doctors themselves, it’s easy to see why NCHS was recently recognized as one of San Diego’s Top Workplaces in 2013.
