On Saturday, September 10, Autism Society San Diego will be holding their first annual Walk, Rock ‘N’ Roll for Autism Family 5K.
This local, volunteer run non-profit, currently in its 50th year puts on programs and events benefiting individuals with autism and their families here in San Diego County.
This event will take place at Cal State San Marcos, with all proceeds benefiting their recreational programs, such as Camp I CAN (Camp Including Children with Autism Now), as well as their brand new Adult Summer Recreation Program.
Camp I CAN is a unique opportunity for children with autism to participate in a traditional summer day camp experience, tailored to their special needs. With highly trained one to one staffing, Camp I CAN provides children with opportunities to go out in the community and spend a week just focused on being a kid and having fun. For many participants, the experience can be life-changing.
Autism currently affects 1 in 68 children. The need and demand for these programs grows every year. Please consider supporting Autism Society San Diego so they can continue to provide programs at a very low cost or no cost for these families. Every contribution helps changes lives for the better.
