Lora at the Keyboard

Music, especially piano music, is my passion. I have performed at many different social functions - during luncheons and dinners, at grand openings, art shows, weddings and receptions, and birthday and Christmas parties, anniversary celebrations - in public venues and at private residences.

During the fourteen years that I have been performing, I have collected almost one thousand songs that were written between 1800 and 1990. I want to do all I can to keep these songs alive, as they are an important part of the history of our country.

Because my repertoire includes a wide variety of songs, I can tailor the musical package to fit your particular need. Recent performances include playing the piano

(1) during a four-hour engagement party for a couple in their mid-70’s. During the first hour I played love songs; the second hour, movie themes and songs from musicals; the third hour, songs written by Irving Berlin, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter; the fourth hour, a selection of oldies-but-goodies.

(2) to celebrate a couple’s 72nd anniversary. I played songs that were written the year they were married and songs that they had requested.

(3) as a gift to a couple celebrating their 19th anniversary. I played songs written in the 1960’s, their favorite musical decade.

(4) during a man’s 100th birthday party at a retirement community in Escondido. I played songs from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s.
